PSAC and NAC agree to additional bargaining on April 24

Ottawa, April 10, 2017 — Following a vote in favour of striking by the overwhelming majority of box office and usher staff at the National Arts Centre, PSAC’s bargaining team met with National Arts Centre (NAC) management for a three-day bargaining session on April 5, 6 and 7.

While no tentative agreement was reached, both parties agreed that sufficient progress was made to warrant scheduling a follow-up bargaining session on April 24.

Nevertheless, the sides remain far apart on several key issues, including wages, benefits and scheduling. While PSAC’s bargaining team is committed to reaching a fair tentative agreement with NAC management, workers at the NAC will continue to mobilize over the next two weeks and remain on strike alert.
